Despina Psara




Despina Psara is a researcher based in Cyprus whose work explores critical geographies, politics of refusal, and human–horse relations through audiovisual methods, collaborative inquiry, and visual investigation. Her research examines how political subjectivities emerge through social and material conditions shaped by division, bordering, and conflict.

She is currently completing an MA in Peace, Conflict, and Democracy at the University of Cyprus, where her audiovisual thesis examines conscientious objectors across the divide and how they articulate their refusal in relation to the island's ongoing hypermilitarisation.
